I am both.

BTW - I have had brutal dayhike days and easy backpack days - and vice versa, 
of course.  Any day walking is good, IMHO.  In or out of the woods.  When I 
slackpack it's so I don't have to spend the day sitting in a motel or hostel 
someplace having a zero day watching the tube.
