[at-l] Quitting work, going hiking....

The key here is not to 'quit'.  Take a leave of absence.

Honestly tell your boss, supervisor, or whatever, that you are going hiking.
Tell him or her that this is something you need to relieve the stress in
your life.  You need the time off to take care of yourself.  You need the
leave of absence.  If you don't get the leave, then you will have to quit.
Some people won't work with you like that, but it's worth a shot.
