I'm not sure how well the yaktrax would fare on rough trail but they do work when the trail is a
good one that happens to be all iced up. My problem with my set is that they slipped off my shoes
too easily. It's possible they're just the wrong size for the shoes I was wearing (the shoes might
have been 8.5 instead of 9). They don't affect your gait much which I consider a plus and they
certainly do add grip.

I don think they're  really meant for heavy mixed terrain conditions.
