as I sit here recovering from a 103* flu, I wonder  ....

as anyone ever come down with the flu on the trail?  not just a cold, but
the no joke, high fever, chills,  "I can't move" flu. You obviously couldn't
hike out.  and, staying in a shelter for a week without proper aid would be
dangerous.   so, would you send for emergency crews to carry you?
