?Smartwool? (was) RE: [at-l] Confessions of a cotton lover

I am allergic to feathers and wool... but modern day down and SmartWool
cause me no problems. I have worn SmartWool socks without liners without
experiencing any irritation. (Normally I do use liners for wicking and
additional protection from blisters.)

I can't stand wool. The only wool I carried on a hike was some GREAT wool
socks that I wore under extra long artificial socks -- the tops stuck out
above the wool ones. Has anybody who is allergic to wool (in their head
and
in fact) tried smartwool? What else have y'all tried that gives the warmth
of wool?
