I've gotten a lot of good help, both on and off list. And I've got myself in
the hunt for one on ebay even now.  I'm going to be hiking with Pittsburgh
on Monday - maybe I can get him to show me firsthand how one works, and if
there are any special tips on using them, I'll make sure they're posted
here.
