I absolutely agree with Jim on this one. RnR is incredibly dedicated.
RnR's posts *have* changed - tremendously - from 18 months ago on TP to now
on AT-L. I used to have to read and reread and reread his posts to figure
them out. I think he's worked pretty hard to make them *much* clearer and
*much* easier to understand and he makes good suggestions and has some good
advice - and yes, he *is* irritating every once and a while - but so are
lots of others' posts. Irritating or not, I've learned a lot from this list
and I pass what I've learned on to my Scouts. I quit the list for a while
after Sept 11 - but I came back because I missed it (even the arguing) and
the connection that we all have to the AT, to other trails, to the outdoors,
and to each other.
Now, as for "home-brew garbage" - I don't know if my beer is garbage or
not. My latest batch (a Newcastle clone) is ready to be opened tomorrow!
