I love the Gargoyles, I've had 4 pair starting with the original "Terminator" version
called Classics and in various degrees of sleekness.  My fav Goyles are called "hero"
They are less wrap around and shorter than Aahhnald wore.

The one's I've actually used the longest "most scratch resistant" are the Killer Loop
model called "Payback" and they look very similar to the Hero's above.

In terms of Hiking / glare, etc., the Swiss Army brand provided the most secure fit
and the best sun block.  The were mountaineering glasses with leather side pieces and
a leather nose bridge wrap as well  as wrap around ear pieces.  These would NOT fall
off and no light got in anywhere besides the lenses.  The only drawback was fogging
when I was really exerting.

Unfortunately, I don't think they make these anymore.

The Bolle's also were mountaineering glasses, but they were cheap plastic and I didn't
use the accessories.

Unfortunately, I am rough on most things I own. (myself included)  I ruined two pair
of glasses while they were on my face.
I had a date sit on a pair of the Classic Gargoyles, someone stole my Swiss Army
glasses, A pair of the Gargoyles blew off my face while I was riding my motorcycle
down the highway (I turned around to check traffic and off they went).....

I also liked the Wayfarers, but you are right.  They aren't made as well as they used
to be.  They can still be found at www.rayban.com and then clicking on the "Outsider"
sunglasses.  There are Wayfarers and Wayfarer II's as well as a couple of other models
that look similar, but they are all the same quality wise.

Check out the ray ban "Predator Square Sport" model.  They have the qualities of the
wayfarers as well as smaller sunglasses.
Also check out the Nike "Mojo" glasses.  These are the tight fitting wrap around ones
that Apolo Anton Ohno wears.
Or you can check out the Revo "H2O Mad Wrap".  They are also similar to wayfarers but
wrap around.  Caution, these are $250.00.

Best advice from Rami on Sunglasses:
Go to the mall, try on all of the ones you like at the (fill in the name of the kiosk
which sells sunglasses in your local mall), ask the girl there which ones she likes,
do the same at the outfitter nearest you.  Galyans sells lots of glasses, and then
once, you've gotten fed up with all the obnoxious people there, go buy the ones you
liked the most.
