[at-l] Poisoning wildlife and other remarkable suggestions....

As penance for such a suggestion, which I have since retracted, I offer the
following:

Mint is purported to repel mice.  Maybe we could plant mint around shelters.
(But then, that probably isn't a local plant...)  A little in you food sack
might keep them away.

Alternatively, you could use an ultrasonic device such as these:

The first isn't light - using 4 'C' batteries.  The second is lighter, using
a single 9 volt.

I don't know how well they work, but the theory sounds good.  I will say
that mosquitoes aren't at all affected by the ultrasonic mosquito repellers.
Maybe the rodent ones work better.
