Mmmm... lard! Brings back memories!

When I was younger, my mom had a can that we poured our bacon grease into.
When it was time to cook (anything) we scooped out the goo and threw it into
the frying pan (or pot) and fried away. When we used all of the grease, we
used Crisco or lard. Mmmm...

But then I got married. My wife is Greek. She was appalled at how I cooked
and she replaced the grease with olive oil. We now go through gallons of
the stuff a year. It's not bad on salads either.
