[at-l] Hikers

I just got back from my weekend canoe trip in the sub zero northern Michigan weather, so
I missed it too - good thing I slept with my water bottle.

When I left Pine Ellis, I was referring to Ilene as "mom". I spent so much time there,
and it felt so much like home, I almost decided to stay - permanently. Let's not forget
Paul, he removed my stitches a week after I fell in the Bigelows and took a header, thus
earning the trailname, Splatman. I think he was a medic in the army or something, so I
figured he was qualified. Then there's the cast of characters at the diner -Addie's:
there's Otis, Maggie, and the extended Andover family. And Roscoe - definitely a dog
with a penchant for dog lovers. Which reminds me, I'm long overdue in sending Otis the
photos of the Pine Stump museum in the UP, and getting Paul some sweet goodies that
aren't "up for grabs" by the hikers.

A great town, with great folks, a real gem.
