     *** Snowbird had an aviation navigation beacon at its crest when I went 
by in 1986. Sounds to me like a post-9/11 national security thing. More than 
likely the corridor can be overridden by a conflicting federal land-use in 
times of national threat. That beacon is probably crucial to east 
coast/Atlanta commercial airline guidance and would seriously impact 
commercial air traffic if it were damaged. -Just a guess anyway...

     Somebody should inform Harpers Ferry...
