Seriously, have you ever been bitten by a snake (any kind, not just venomous)? Do you
know anyone who's ever been bitten?
I have been bitten by several types of snakes (because I was irritating them, and none
were venomous) and I still don't think they're "dangerous". None of the bites hurt,
none hung on for any amount of time, they weren't trying to kill and eat me (although
the 16ft. long 130 lb. reticulated python might have been able to do both) They are
simply predators living their lives as they were intended to. Their preferred food is
much smaller than your average hiker. The only time they are dangerous is when you
surprise them or when you are "asking for it" by not leaving them alone. Killing
every snake you see is the same as killing every bear you see. Should it be open
season on bears too?
