[at-l] Future Genetics

A close reading of the Observer article also indicates that the scientists making the claim for the end of natural selection in humans (horsefeathers!) are applying this to the WESTERN world, not the entire human race, which may in fact be a reality, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. (They're grabbing at headlines. They must want some more grant money.) The entire human race will never reach the level of comforts and consumption that we have in the West. The species will be dead by then because the biosphere can't sustain it. The Observer gets a little sloppy here or the scientits do, one or the other. And that's a different kettle of fish entirely, complete with tomatoes, or is it tomatos?

I believe this was written disrespectfully.

I'm out.
