Strange, because my 8 year old daughter seems to have this EXACT same
condition.

I tell her to clean her room. On her way to her room she takes notice
of the cats, and begins to pet them and play with them. While she's
playing with them she notices that they want to go outside, and lets
them out. As she has the door open she notices her friend across the
street is outside. She asks if she can go play. I say no, that she has
to clean her room. On her way to her room she picks up a few of her
things out of the living room. One of these things is her game boy.
She quickly decides to play JUST one game. Eventually she gets to her
room, and seemingly has to play with every single toy before she puts it
away, peruse every book before it goes on the shelf, and build a fort
out of her bedsheets before she makes her bed. No sir, it's not Age
Activated. It's just human.
