[at-l] best parts of AT

This is going to be interpretted as a slam against the mid-atlantic, but it
is not intended to be. Some of the best hiking I have experienced has been
in that region.

However, to answer your question - 2-3 months allows for a sizable chunk of
the trail (perhaps 600-900 miles), so if I were to suggest something for
someone who is new to all of it, I would narrow it down to two sections:
Springer Mtn, GA to Rockfish Gap, VA either as a northbound in spring and
summer, or perhaps better, starting from the north end in late August and
head south to Springer by November. The second section - Salisbury, CT to
Katahdin, timing a northbound version to be done by Oct 1-5ish, or
southbound with a mid October finish. There are plenty of other ways to do
it - that's just the first thing that jumped into my head.

I have only two to three months to hike some of the AT. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to the "better" parts? Thank-you, erin
