[at-l] ALDHA Definitions

I don't think there is anything within ALDHA regarding an official set
policy about what defines "long distance". It is my impression that a hike
of any length is valid for presentation, and there are plenty of other
scheduled activities at the gatherings that are not hiking at all
(mountaineering, diet, etc etc). The criteria I have occasionally seen in
other places is usually a minimum of 200-250 miles of hiking or around two
weeks to define "long distance." To me such definitions are irrelevant. You
do whatever you do, no matter what someone else wants to call it.

Can't find this on the ALDHA website, so I'll ask the list. For ALDHA, how
many miles does it take to qualify a trail as a long-distance hike? 200
miles? 500 miles? xxx miles??? Is ALDHA interested in Gathering
presentations on complete trails of less than 200 miles?
