I'd wanted to respond to this one, but for the life of me, could
not recall the brand of shoe that I had in mind to recommend.
Thanks Jim/Ginny for the name of that shoe! Lowas.

While I was experiencing foot problems during our hike this year,
I'd chatted with a hiker who recommended Lowas as a remedy.
(I would have to hear the name of the model she'd recommended;
I don't recall which one it was right now.) Anyway, she'd had the
same "fit" problems that I'd had - basically, not enough room in
the toebox, coupled with a narrow heel.

I settled for New Balance trail runners. Although I found that both
the 804's and the 803's were adequate (one pair of each got me
from Harpers Ferry to Katahdin), I'm looking for a better fit.

I met many others wearing Lowas during the hike -- each and
every one of them said that they loved them. I still have in mind
to check them out for our next hike. They may be a good option
for you to check out, too.

Ready
