[at-l] Availability of Methyl Alcohol along the trail?

Hello at-l,

  I'm back with yet another question, thanks for all the previous
  help.  I was considering making a homemade alcohol stove and I was
  wondering if many thru-hikers have used one in past years and what
  the general concensus on them was.  Also was finding the appropriate
  alcohol in trail towns any difficulty?
