[at-l] Snakebite WEB sites

After reading all the discussion on snakebites, I did some surfing and came
up with the info below. The MEDLINE site appears to be "used" in part or
whole on several other sites. Most sites seem to agree that an "aggressive"
treatment ("chop the leg off") is not necessary, but that treatment should
begin immediately. Also, many sites seem to agree that the coral snake
(U.S.) is very dangerous, and they seem to recommend extra care for bites by
that snake. And for those who have been discussing dogs, I found a Vet Med
site. Now I am of the old school that recommends liberal application of
"what-ails-you" type meds, and there's a recipe that I found for that.

PS I can't accept responsibility for the info below. Nor can my employer.
It appears that the info is good from my librarian POV, but I am not a
medical specialist of any sort. But, the MEDLINE info is regularly used by
medical professionals & GORP is a camping/backpacking/etc. site that appears
to have been around for awhile.
