[at-l] Steel-Cut Oats

I buy all those items at my local food coop. Plus lots of other great pack
food.

Hi,

I am here to report that my Chainsaw Pot cozy works like a charm!

I boiled up a pot of steel-cut oats and "simmered it" for 30 minutes in my
pot cozy. They were just a little bit watery, so I am going to repeat the
experiment again, and recheck my proportions.
What I wanted from the List was info on steel-cut oats.

I bought a can of Irish oatmeal at an outrageous price of $5.99 for 28
ounces. They were imported from Ireland. Oh well, I got them anyway - I
wanted to see if I liked them after the buzz on the list. And I do.

So, is there a cheaper, US source? There MUST be.
Don't make me go to the horse feed store, now...

Also, how about the same for grits. The Instant grits are scarcely worth the
time the time it takes to open the mouth. Now that I can "simmer", a world
of possibilities is opening up!
Soon - lentil and rice pilaf!

If you haven't made a cozy yet, its worth doing. Thank you Dave!
Best,
Jan
