[at-l] leeches???

Sure, there are leeches in Maine. Last Aug. 15, I wanted to swim in Crawford Pond, but I was a little skittish about leeches. Sarah, a Mainer, told me that leeches have to have warm
conditions, so they hang around shallow, warmer water. So if you get past the shallows, you don't get as many leeches. The swim was wonderfully refreshing, and I only found two cute
little leeches on my feet when I got out. They are really easy to pull off!
