David -
Speaking as an absolutely unrepentant dragon (I'm NOT sorry for the sarcasm)
- I've found that the word "deeper", when used with respect to personal
thought processes, is the refuge of those who believe without reason that
their thought processes are superior to that of others
:-))
What some people don't seem to realize is that no matter how many layers you
peel off the onion - it's still an onion. "Deep" isn't a proper adjective
to apply to real "thinking" - "incisive" might be more to the point. More
like a sword stroke than a strip tease.
Personal definitions - "serious" means someone is - or will soon be -
bleeding (either literally or figuratively). "Seriously" - in email at
least - means "what went before this should have been read as humor - so
laugh (or at least chuckle) and we can get down to business".
YMMV
Walk softly,
Jim
