I remember reading a story a few years ago about a guy who decided that his
family was watching too much TV. He obtained a 12 volt RV TV, and connected
an exercise bike to a car alternator and a battery. It worked out 1 for 1,
1 hour of pedaling to 1 hour of TV watching. The battery let you store your
time so you didn't have to pedal while watching. If three people wanted to
watch a 3-hour movie they could each pedal for an hour. Birthdays and
holidays he put the battery on a charger. He said two things, the family
was in a lot better shape, and they were a lot more particular about what
they watched <g>
