[at-l] Best route?

I can't remember the context but someone noted
the best route for the trail and it set off an old question.
Did they pick the best route?  Jim and Ginny, I have
CC'd this to you since you have hiked more Pa trails
than anyone I know, but would be interested in any
feedback.  Do you think they choose the best route?
Or should the trail have swung up through
the middle and cut across the northern tier?
Lots of real backcountry up there..
