[at-l] Hiking food you love to hate...



Dried fruit.  I hiked with it as a staple for 5 or 6 years.  Suddenly one
morning while I was doing a patch-in in the Smokies, actually while watching
the little red squirrel (some of you may be able to name that shelter near
Clingman's Dome), I couldn't swallow it.  I haven't been able to eat it
since.  That was pretty tough, since that was the first day of the hike, and
dried fruit was all I'd brought for my breakfasts.  <G>  anklebear
