[at-l] Taking care of business

I guess this is the heartbreaker question - for some of us anyway. That bit
that flows through my veins that I think won't be dealt with until I thru,
and yet . . . yeah, I didn't do it when I was younger, so now I'll probably
be waiting until I retire (although I also have this dream about earning 6
months sabbatical and doing it then - which is one of the great things about
being in a job that has the possibility of taking sabbatical time, but most
sabbaticals don't last more than 4 months and I really don't hike that
fast!). But in the meantime, although my divorce a few years back means I
no longer have to deal with a spouse that doesn't get it, I also right now
have kids' college costs and job needs and such.

In the meantime, section hiking still works wonders for me, and I do get a
month off each year. And now both kids (neither one of whom seems to have
gotten my blood type and, like their father, don't really get it) are out of
the house and I don't have to really worry about their vacation desires!
Just being out there, even if for a day, or an overnight, or a week - it all
matters. It's all food for the soul.
