[at-l] warming up after hiking

I'm not speak for OB, but for me.

No. I go winter hiking/backpacking alone.

It is just that winter hiking/backpacking is more on the edge and, IMHO,
that edge should not be pushed by being alone when trying new gear, new
techniques, a more extreme level, etc. Mistakes that cause discomfort, a
poor night's sleep, etc in three seasons can kill you in the winter.

I wasn't there. So, I'll reserve judgment on what went wrong in this
incident. I also respect you judgment to have tested the gear in a safer
situation and to recognize there could have been danger had this happened in
the woods.

I was just using the post as a spring board to one of my regular soap boxes.
(Is that a mixed metaphor, or what?) I've brought three bodies out of the
woods and don't want the next to be one of my friends.
