[at-l] slackpacking: opinions on it ?
I don't see anything wrong with slackpacking, but it's true it sometimes
interferes with your hike. I know of more than a few places I would have
liked to stop, but had to meet the car. I also get bored with staying in the
same place over a couple nights, when I feel I should be in the woods. It's
also true it's saved some peoples hikes that wouldn't be able to hike with a
backpack do to injuries.
Just don't call it "freedom hiking", it's the furthest thing from.
Barebacking or day hiking may be a better term.
