I agree with Weary.
I had the good fortune of meeting Jack at Madison in September.  He entertained a
group of student hikers with his trail stories, and was helpful to the croo doing a
work for stay.
No, Jack is not self deprecating, but he's not completely full of himself either.
He's conversive, interesting, knowledgeable and sharing.  And yes, he has plenty of
faults, just like the rest of us.
I enjoyed my brief time with him, and hope our paths cross again, just as I hope to
someday meet any of you.
