[at-l] animals on the trail

Well, how about being scoped out by a weasel from five feet away, while
resting atop the last overlook going up Wildcat in the Whites. Definitely a
"pinch me" moment.
Moose are always impressive.
Had hopes to spot a mountain lion in Colorado... saw quite a bit of
wildlife, but no mountain lion.
Having an entire herd of deer run through a campsite in the Bitteroots,
followed later in the night by the howling of the coyotes.
Treed two bear cubs/yearlings (?) - they were pretty good size, but I
didn't hang around waiting for mama. That was on the Allegheny Trail.
On the JMT the birds chirp, the picas chirp, and the squirrels chirp - you
never know which way to look, but it's pretty amusing.
