[at-l] Hunting "on" the trail

My favorite story about how the trail is "protected" from hunters is
best illustrated by a picture. See the following picture, taken on the
trail just north of Duncannon, PA.

It shows the trail in the middle (note the small rectangular white blaze
on the tree in the background) and the hunting boundaries on each side
(marked by big white blotches painted on the trees). As you can see,
the big white blotches tell the bullets how far they are permitted to go
before being legally prohibited from crossing the trail. This 8-10 feet
"no fly zone" should give hikers the greatest comfort in knowing that
they are being protected, while also allowing hunters the freedom to
enjoy their sport.
