Rick has been collecting data from Eb (Nimblewill Nomad) Eberhardt and others who have done what's being called the Eastern Continental (Key West to Cape Gaspe).  

Rick has also been section hiking the trek from the FT up through Alabama and Georgia to the AT.  As he hikes  he's been compiling a hiker's guide.  He has also hiked the Key West to Loop Road stretch (Key West to the start of the FT)and compiled data and services.

He will send this compiled information to sincerely interested hikers.  I believe he asks for a small sum to cover the cost of printing and mailing all this info.

If you plan to continue on with the FT, please contact the Florida Trail Association as permits are required for some FT sections.

A further word of praise for this friend to hikers.  Rick just completed 4-5 days of trail work clearing a big stretch of the FT down south.  He bought an ATV and a bushhog out of his own pocket to assist in clearning some big stretches down there.  Next week he heads AGAIN to Alabama where he is a sparkplug in gettng the ball rolling on the newly formed Alabama Hiking Trails group. This group will be working toward getting the Alabama stretch of the ECT off the roads and into the woods as much as possble.
