[at-l] Mislabeling bottles and hiker dumb "mistakes"

> Hmmm...interesting topic. What was the "dumbest" hiker related thing YOU
> ever did?? NOW confess!!!

How 'bout falling on my head.
Stupid.
Flat, level ground, not paying attention to where I was going, and splat!!!
I was sobo in the Bigelows, just south of Flagstaff Lake?,
anyway, I had to hike out a few miles, hitch into the nearest town, and call in
the nurse practitioner to stitch me up. She gave me the lucky 7,(sutures), then
she and her husband took me home for pizza, beer, and a warm place to sleep. We
still keep in touch, and I got a trailname out of the deal, bestowed upon me by
Sirocco '00.

It may have been one of the stupidest things I've ever while hiking, but it
certainly makes a great story, and I got some great friends out of the deal,
too. Interestingly, the husband of the nurse who attended me was from
Roscommon, MI, a town about 50 miles from where I live. The following February
I was running the Ausable River in a canoe and was shuttled by Ausable Mike'00,
who knew this guy's family. Small world.
