for what its worth, I would suggest getting the princeton tec MATRIX  =
which
has a circuit that allows it to put out the same amount of light =
regardless
of how much battery life is left. also it requires 2 AA batteries which =
IMO
are easyer to find in shelters and hiker boxes and or are cheaper to buy
than 3 AAA batteries.    Also the head on the matrix is adjustable up =
and
down... the tikka is non-adjustable
The only time ive seen the tikka out perform the matrix is when it had =
brand
new batteries.
 If you have an older PT headlamp(standard bulb) you can get the matrix
upgrade unit for about $25.        $39 for the whole unit
