Re[2]: [at-l] Windmills

"...There are eleven large power generating windmills in southern Vermont that
have been visible from the AT for several years (if you know where to look)."

The Vermont wind towers are pigmies compared with what is proposed for Redington
Range near Saddleback. The Redington towers are proposed to be three times
higher, the blades will be twice as long, the electricity generated 2,000 times
greater and everything will be much closer to the trail.

You will not need "to know where to look." The towers will be in your face
during the traverse of the entire open portion of the Saddleback range and at
every overlook to the summits of Crocker and beyond.

By the way, I understand the wind farms in California and near the Pacific Crest
Trail are also pygmy-sized compared to the Maine proposals.
