[at-l] Lone Star Trail Needs Volunteers

I know there are at least a handful of Texans on AT-L,
maybe more, and this is aimed at them. However, the
site I'm listing and the trail is worth checking out
if you travel to East Texas and want to take a hike in
the big woods (fall, winter, spring recommended; avoid
the summer). The web site has a mile-by-mile hiking
guide listing water sources, campgrounds, trailhead
parking, towns, etc., some nice photos and a list of
scheduled maintenance and hiking events.

I am becoming an active volunteer for the Lone Star
Trail (128 miles and the only National Scenic Trail in
Texas). They need help. The LSHT club appears to be
run by experienced folks on a low budget with little
public support. A very basic, garage operation, so
the website is not the most polished one you will see.
But it is rather a quaint operation and a very
quaint, quiet trail that I hope to thru-hike this
year. (I am working on hiking the few national
scenic-status trails NOT yet listed in the ALDHA
Guide. Just for kicks, and so I can get them added to
that list.)

Anyhow, those interested, please check out the site
and email for volunteer opportunities.
