About the wood carving hitch-hiking to Ct...
There was a story in the local paper here a couple of years ago. A couple
had one of those concrete garden gnomes "stolen". It turned up on the lawn
the better part of a year later, accompanied by a photo album... pictures
of the gnome on the beach in Hawaii, in front of the pyramids in Egygt,
visiting the ruins in Greece,  hiking in Yosemite... etc.
The only thing the owners were upset about was that the gnome had gotten to
more places than they ever had... <g>
BTW, the dang thing weighed about 80 pounds...
