[at-l] Postponing re-entry

Though we've made it back to Atlanta twice already since
finishing our 2001 AT hike on 9/22 (once from Katahdin,
once from the Gathering), we're still procrastinating re-entry
into the worse-than-we-left-it world of "normal" life.

Wednesday we're heading up to Wesser, NC to begin a little
hike from NOC through the Smokies and likely on up as far
as Hot Springs, hoping to catch a little color in the mtns as
we go. We plan to take it slow, 10-11 days to cover ~135
miles.

I've resumed lurking the list since just before the Gathering.
Ready seems too busy getting settled in to turn on her
computer, though she does check her Pocketmail occasionally.

Thanks to all y'all who followed our AT hike via our journals.
We'll be posting more photos as time permits. And there are
rumblings of a PCT hike on the horizon, maybe even in 2002.

Meanwhile I'm enjoying reading Rhymin' Worm's book
"On the Beaten Path," which seems to be a mighty fine effort
at explaining why folks like us get caught up in the force field
of long hiking trails. It's a delightful read, much recommended.

Later,
Spur
