### And Red Ledge Thunderlight (13oz, $50; Campmor) Campmor High Peaks
($19oz, $50). And personally, the Red Ledge design, which includes pit
zips and slash pockets that can actually hold stuff and shelter your hands
without getting in the way of pack suspension [WHOA! WHATTA CONCEPT!
Whodah thunkit?] are worth twice the price.

But know that Gore's Gore-Tex coating is generally acknowledged to be the
longest lasting....... Anybody know how long these "also-rans" last? Will
they do a throughhike? (And for that matter, has anyone had a Gore-tex
garment go a throughhike at the shoulders?)

BTW, Campmor's got the MountainLight on sale for $200, and it goes
1lb13oz.
