[at-l] Rambling thoughts, possibly delete before opening

Several years I watch he vice presidential debates and I watch the 
Vice Presidential Candidate from the Periot (sp?) party trying to 
answer some of the questions.  He was an admiral (i wish I could 
remember his name) and he looked a little dumbfounded.  A friend 
of mine asked me about the debate and the candidate.  My answer 
was I though he did will, it was just he was upset with all the trivial 
sh*t that went with the campaign.

Life is short, too short to be taken seriously, too short to be angry 
more than 3 seconds about anything.  I spent a year were when I 
went to bed I did not know if i was going to wake up in the morning, 
and in the morning I did not know if i would live long enough to go 
to bed that evening.  Yes because of this experience I think most 
of this discussion is petty crap.  I don't like the government we 
have and I work very hard to change it.  Unfortunately being a 
government employee is the same as being a second class citizen 
and I can be fired for joining any protest.  Since I need to pay for 
my children's education I have found other routes for my protests.  

If you think it is fun being a government employee you have another 
thing coming.  After leaving the military I joined the anti-war 
movement and almost lost my GI bill.  In the early sixties I was 
arrested for trying to register voters in Maryland.  The charges were 
eventually dropped, but I spent a miserable week in jail and also 
lost all opportunity for a security clearance.  I was also arrested in 
another political demonstration.  I would like to see what my FBI 
files look like.

Yes the government is large and inhuman, but it is the best we can 
do.  We get the government we deserve and if you think that we 
should change the government then get out and vote.

This  is one place where I can go and not see much about politics.  
I do not express my opinions nor do I advocate any opinions.  
Please don't express your beliefs and I won't express mine.
