Poetry of Motion...was Re: [at-l] [cubicle horror] REENTRY JOURNAL

Recently there has been some discussion about the
negative and sniping tone to the posting on the list.
Newer and younger members expressed a fear of
participating because of the virulent tone to many of
the postings. I thought by staying out of the debate
I would avoid being affected by this negative
influence. This, unfortunately has not been the case.
I mistook an innocent remark and took myself waay too
seriously. Unfortunately, the response has been
equally in kind. I apologize for any slight or
offending the members of this list.
I sympathize with the post that longed for the days
when she received support and help as she shared her
personal struggles and triumphs. She told how when she
divorced and went through other life changes the list
encouraged and sympathized with her.
I have read of the desire to create a trail family
through the list. Yet many of this family seem to
practice a policy of exclusiveness rather than
inclusiveness, expressing resentment of the some newer
list members.
I joined the list on the advise of a friend who
believed I could find a place to share, receive
support and help for my daughter. Her father molested
her. He went into hiding to avoid prosecution.
Recently she underwent a type of therapy to stop the
nightmares which will prohibit her from successfully
bringing him to justice. He came out of hiding. She
lives with fear and pain from the abuse she suffered.
He molested her duriing backpacking trips. She wanted
to hike the trail to heal and create new memories.
She wanted to find a joy that his abuse stole. The
plan was to start with the GA Ruck. She will hike
part of the trail with me. Her brother will join us
later. It will be a difficult journey for her in more
than one way.
I don't know how the list use to be. I just know the
meaness doesn't seem worthy of those who claim to
share a love for something bigger themselves.
