One time I cooked pinto beans down till they were real thick.  I then dehydrated them.  On the day I used them, I put water in the bag a couple of hours before the meal.  At camp, I poured water beans and all in the pot and cooked them a bit.  Then added the rice with some seasoning and had beans and rice for a meal.  Plodder
