[at-l] Labor Day Weekend

Hi All,

I thought of Mags trip reports while on a business/pleasure trip this month.
We drove out to Utah from Ohio and in between business we stopped and took
in some pretty awesome sights. Moba (Arches State Park) Canyonlands. Drove
into Silverton and took a jeep road up to the top of Engineers Pass (Alpine
Loop) to Lake City and back over Cinnamon Pass back to Silverton. Just in
that area alone are about 12 14er (San Juan Mountains) to view.

If your not careful the elevation does cause dizziness headaches and nausea.
We were jumping from 4 to 9 to 13 hundred feet in a short period of time for
several days. I think if I could of had more days to get use to the higher
altitudes it would of helped. We did go for a short walk to a waterfall
while on the Alpine Loop but we were very quickly out of breath and muscles
were screaming. I was wondering how long it does take to get use to the
higher elevations?

Of all the states I went to or through I love Colorado! Very few people in
the area I mentioned and vast lands and so many mountains to look at! Deer
roaming everywhere, Elk and herds of sheep roaming around.

It was my first time out west and where my heart is!

I hated coming back to the traffic and so many people in the East. I'm all
energized and want to work harder so I can go back West very soon.

BG
