It is our understanding that since most shelters are on U.S. Forest =
Service land,
it is the U.S. F.S. that bans advertising on their "land".  We learned =
this 17 years=20
ago when we posted some notices in a couple of shelters that said "if =
you are=20
injured, sick, out of food, etc.,etc., take the Kimsey Creek Blue blaze =
trail to
the pay phone at Standing Indian Campground.  Call us and we will come =
help you.
They considered that advertising and tore them down and threatened us =
with=20
fines if we did it again.
Jeez, I'm sorry I used the word "land".
