[at-l] Increased fire danger in Maine

Just read this story about the increased fire danger in Maine.  The AP 
ariticle says:
"Several fires have also been reported on the Appalachian Trail, where hikers 
apparently have been careless in dousing their campfires, he said."     

Can anyone from Maine confirm this reporting?
