[at-l] What Has Hiking Given You?

BlankWhat Has Hiking Given You?

Hiking, whether it's for a weekend or for a 3 mth trek, sweeps the =
"clutter of daily living & work" from me, giving me perspective as to =
what is real & important, thru His beauty, space, silence, & solitude, =
allowing me to truly experience a "taste" of "freedom", penetrating thru =
me a natural high, experiencing His softness & harshness, always =
imprinting in my mind & my heart a feeling of wholeness, security, =
contentment, & harmony, giving me a "taste of heaven"!

I See You God...

I see You God, in the redwood: tall, massive, solid, powerful, hard, =
enduring, & stately. Your branches reaching to me, touching me, =
caressing me, holding me, sheltering, & protecting me!

I see You God, in the water: surrounding me, with warmth & comfort, =
soothing, cleansing, healing, mellowing, tranquil; caressing & filling =
me with the "essence" of Your Being!

I see You God, as the air: unseeming, there, ever-present; vital, =
essential!

I see You God, as the eagle: soaring high, free, proud & confident; =
sharp-eyed, graceful, & untouchable; rare!

I see You God, as the wolf: loyal, dependable, elegant, flexible, =
adaptable, playful; yet a primal, cunning, fierce survivor in an =
advancing environment that tries to engulf & destroy him (You)!

I see You God, as the owl: full of wisdom, all-knowing; sensitive, kind, =
gentle, non-assuming, fair, settling, & calm!

I see You God, as & of the earth: deep & large, rich, everlasting, =
fertile, sustaining; firm, solid, intuitive, beautiful, awesome!

I see You God, as the storm: with Your mighty voice, the Thunder; Your =
energy, the Lightning; Your power, the Wind!

I see You God, as the seasons: seemingly changing, but not so; =
ever-consistent, & cycling.
You give us the spring, a time of birthing & resurrection.
You give us the summer, a time of growth.
You give us the fall, a time of change.
You give us the winter, a time of dying & death. No! It is a time of =
regrouping, preparation, & revitalizing from deep within.
