[at-l] Altitude hiking
ok. I went back and watched the movie in super-slo-mo. really.
the best I could make of the label on the box of 4 syringes of a liquid
resembling ginger ale (of coarse that could be hollywood) was
"DEXAMETHASO..." the guys fingers covered the rest.
My copy of Microsoft Bookshelf has the following :
dexamethasone (dèk´se-mèth´e-son´, -zon´) noun
A synthetic glucocorticoid used primarily in the treatment of
inflammatory disorders.
[Dexa(myl), a dextroamphetamine compound + METH(YL) + (CORTI)SONE.]
could this be it? How would this save your life in the case of
pulmonary edema?
the movie, btw, was "Vertical Limit". had some really great mountain
shots.
t.
ps
I just did an internet search and found lots of stuff.
here is a decent summary of AMS
