Any surface mined metal makes a mess. Deep mining is less visually
appalling but still has the issues of tailings and water pollution.  There is
only one type of pot that you can carry that not only won't have
a bad effect on the environment, actually has a positive effect.

Used pots.  I'm talking about aluminum pots from the 1940's which
you can still find in junkstores and yard sales.  My theory is that what pots
that were made during the war years, were made of thinner gauge metal.
I have several under seven ounces......
one, which hold 2 cups easy annnd has a lid annnnd an actual real metal
sturdy handle (I cut it off to about 2 in long) and it weighs
just  5 OZ!!!!  Cost three dollars....
Ok..I know I've been up on this particular soapbox before, but reduce,
reuse, recycle.  Heck....even my titi kettle was bought used.  OB...
dig out that dusty Titi and put it out for sale at a Ruck near you <g>
