[at-l] New Hampshire in October?

The area you are considering hiking is in beautiful color the first of
October but by the end of the month the color is all gone and it is mostly
gray and brown. The weather can be real nice with frosty mornings or a late
season hurricane may blow through. Late month snow flurries are fairly common
on the ridges but should not affect your hiking south of the Presidentials.
Daylight hours get very short by mid October. Once the time changes it's
getting dark shortly after 5:00 p.m..
